About ArgentArgent was founded in 1977 by businessman and entrepreneur, Fred Perenic, who collaborated with 3M™ on a breakthrough opportunity to die-cut their first generation nameplate tapes.

The benefits of self-adhesive nameplate attachment were transformative. By replacing the mechanical fasteners previously used, OEM’s both expedited vehicle production, and eliminated potential rust-points in body-side sheet metal.

Ford Motor Company became Argent’s first OEM account. Chrysler and General Motors soon followed. Before long, business and innovation flourished. Many of our novel self-adhesive products became industry standards, permanently replacing traditional fasteners and assembly techniques.

Today, some 30 years later, Argent continues to lead the automotive industry with innovative, specialty-cut and converted products. As a global supplier, we manufacture and ship over 28,000,000 products a month from our 84,000 square foot facility in Plymouth, Michigan. And in 2007, our global sales were over $30,000,000.
