Frame holes, drain holes, and access holes represent
only a few of the applications for our hole cover
composites. While essential to manufacture and
maintenance, if left unfinished, these holes can
develop a variety of problems, such as wind noise or
sealing issues. Fortunately, Argent has developed a
variety of low-cost alternatives to rubber or
plastic hole-plugs. Our Solutions to your hole cover
challenge are significantly easier to install and
host a variety of other advantages. All of our
unique composites can be custom converted to meet
the needs of your specific application.
Right: Argent's Design Team solved this hole cover
challenge with ARV-5106, our own specialty
composite. Characteristics such as exceptional
conformability, a high performance adhesive system,
and low cost, made ARV-5106 the perfect choice for
this application.

for Hole Covers Brochure
For a low cost alternative to molded rubber and
plastic hole-plugs, Argent’s ARV-5106 is your
solution. Constructed of flexible low-density
polyethylene film, and a very tacky,
high-performance acrylic adhesive system, ARV-5106
is ideal for use on smaller holes where strength and
flexibility are application requirements. ARV-5106
can easily wrap around corners and conform to
complex surfaces, enabling it to excel where rigid
materials or molded plugs just are not effective.
(Ultra High Molecular Weight Polyethylene) film tape
excels in hole cover applications where abrasion
resistance and high film strength are the primary
concerns. With its acrylic adhesive system, UHMW
will perform nicely on almost any substrate,
including low surface energy plastics. Available in
both clear and black, UHMW is also well suited to
applications with aesthetic considerations.
is used in hole cover applications that require
flexibility, conformability, and insulative
properties. Available in a variety of types,
densities, thicknesses, and custom high-performance
adhesive systems, foam tapes are highly versatile.
PVC also has added benefit as a sound dampener in
addition to its ability to seal holes from water and
dust. For applications requiring additional abrasion
resistance, films can be laminated to the composite.
is a semi-rigid film making it well suited to
applications featuring larger openings and gaps,
especially where puncture resistance is required.
Polyester is ideal for use in manufacturing
environments especially those where gloves are worn,
as its semi-rigid nature makes it easy to handle.
For use in access-holes, polyester’s clarity allows
operators to perform visual checks even after the
film has been installed.
Primary applications for Cloth tape includes hole
cover applications that require conformability and
aggressive adhesion. Cloth tape is typically
supplied with rubber-based adhesive systems, which
have a very aggressive bond to a variety of
substrates. Added benefits of most cloth tapes
include improved water resistance, due to
polyethylene coatings, and the ability to be applied
both pre and post paint cycle.
