Both temporary and
permanent self-adhesive, surface protection products
have grown in use in the automotive industry,
especially those used on luxury vehicles. Consumers
have come to demand a higher level of quality that
must be preserved throughout the manufacturing
process and on to retail environments. Surface
protection products vary widely from perforated,
temporary film, wrapped about a vehicle’s exterior,
to permanent, nearly invisible, urethane films
protecting wheel flares from stone impingement.
Fortunately, Argent has developed a variety of
low-cost Solutions for your varied surface
protection needs.

for Surface Protection Brochure
Highly conformable self-adhesive urethane films are
primarily used for permanent exterior paint
protection in automotive applications. They provide
an extremely resilient, abrasion resistant barrier
between surface and environment in vehicle areas
susceptible to scratching and stone chipping.
Urethane film is virtually invisible on most smooth
gloss finishes and is non-yellowing.
Removable, protective LDPE film (low-density
polyethylene), provides temporary surface protection
for automotive exterior finishes and decorative
components. LDPE film is available in several
thicknesses, adhesive coatings, and clear and opaque
varieties, to meet the needs of a variety of
applications. LDPE film can be custom converted to
meet the specific needs of your temporary surface
protection application.
Removable protective foam tape is used regularly on
automotive paint finishes, particularly on the door
edge areas. While providing all of the benefits of a
temporary protective film, it also provides the
added benefit of minor impact resistance. Our
composite is comprised of medium density, weather
resistant, closed-cell foam, and an array of
removable adhesive systems with varying adhesion
levels to suit your specific application.
Self-adhesive traction film can function as a
dual-purpose product, providing permanent surface
protection in addition to its core purpose as a
traction-enhancing agent. Traction films are
manufactured in primarily two varieties. The first
has a very coarse sandpaper-like finish, while the
second has a softer, yet effective, textured
rubber-like finish. Available in clear, black, and
gray with a, permanent, weather-resistant PSA.
